How it works
1. AI-Powered Matching
PeerEdvice's AI-powered algorithm provides student applicants with a list of suggested mentors based on their needs and your profile. As a Peer Mentor, you provide a 15 min complimentary consultation. If there is a mutual fit, the applicant then schedules one or more sessions with the selected mentor. As a Peer Mentor, your profile should include details about your academic background, your skills, sessions types that you can support, your availability, and rates.
2. Easy Scheduling
Each mentor offers a new student a 15-minute complimentary consultation. After that, when the applicant decides to schedule a session with you, the platform displays your available timeslots to the student to book sessions with you using Google Calendar. It is important to keep your google calendar updated with your various commitments so avoid double booking, cancellations and rescheduling.
3. Video Conferencing
Conduct face-to-face mentoring sessions using Google Meet. Our seamless integration ensures high-quality video and audio for productive mentoring experiences.
4. Document Sharing
Collaborate efficiently with your mentees using Google Drive integration. Securely share and edit documents in real-time, from essay drafts to application materials.
5. Messaging
For quick sync, use google chat to send messages.
Fees & Payments for Mentors
Joining the PeerEdvice mentor network is completely free. Each mentor sets their own hourly rate when creating their profile, ensuring flexibility and transparency. Every mentoring session lasts one hour and should be tailored to meet the needs of the applicant. To facilitate a smooth introduction, PeerEdvice requires mentors to offer one complimentary 15-minute “Meet the Mentor” session to each applicant to get acquainted and discuss their goals.
PeerEdvice withholds a low commission from the mentor's fee for each session. This commission is in addition to Stripe or Paypal’s processing fee.
No Commitment, Full Flexibility
Enjoy the freedom of mentoring on your terms. There are no long-term contracts or minimum session requirements. As Mentors, you decide when and how often you want to mentor.
Transparent & Low Commission
PeerEdvice operates with a clear and competitive commission structure. A low percentage is applied to each session booked, ensuring you retain the majority of your earnings. Session fee is charged at the time of session scheduling, keeping things simple. PeerEdvice withholds a low fee from the session fee as its commission. There is no subscription fee.
Fair Refund Policy:
- Full Refund (24+ Hours): If a session is canceled more than 24 hours in advance, the student does not pay any session fee.
- Partial Refund (Within 24 Hours): For cancellations within 24 hours, the student pays a “No Show” session fee and PeerEdvice’s commission is withheld from that fee.
Maximize Your Earnings
We currently don't offer tiered commissions based on volume. Our low commission rates are designed to allow mentors keep more of what they earn from each and every session. We are always evaluating new ways to reward our mentors!
